Colour Create Lilac and Blue

This weeks challenge over at Colour Create is to make a card in lilac and blue with extra options of using ribbon and swirls. There's also a chance to win some blog candy with this one too.

Cuttlebug emboss folder, Momento inks, Free stamp, Nestabilities, Ribbon

I saw a really fab technique over on Valentines Blog using ink on a Cuttlebug embossing folder so thought I'd give it a try. I ended up covered in ink with several disastrous attempts not turning out how I'd expected. In the end I used a brayer and Momento Bahama Blue ink to get a smooth surface before embossing. I used the Cuttlebug swirls folder in two colour ways.

The cute birdie image and swirl stamp were free with a card making magazine, coloured with Pro-Markers and the ribbon is from a Brenda Pinnick kit off QVC.

I'll be spending the rest of the afternoon scrubbing the ink off my hands and my embossing folder. Looking forward to using this technique again as it's messy, fun and I love the result!

  4. Gorgeous card Victoria. The way you carried the swirl theme from the embossing to the mat and onto the image is wonderful. Thanks for making my colour choice look so pretty. Thanks for joining the Colour Create Challenge.
