Die Cut Dreams

Oooh I've had lots of fun with this one! I saw that Die Cut Dreams Challenge blog have a DT call on and are asking us to create something with a pink theme. Susie and Vikki have been running their blog for three months now and have decided it's time to extend their existing DT. Take a look at the blog and the DT blogs too, they are all brilliant. I'll cross my fingers for a DT spot too!

This is my entry:

I decided to challenge myself further and combine this with challenges from Copic Creations - 'pink, red and hearts', Secret Crafter - 'flights of fancy' and I took the fab sketch from Sketch and Stash.

RV29, R27, R59, R02, RV02, RV21, RV23, E00, E21, E51, E33, E35, E37

Found the red and pink Copics a real challenge as I don't think I have enough shades to get the red blending right, although I had a look at the fab tutorial link on the blog! My new stash item used is the Heidi in the flowers stamp from C C Designs - she has wings so fits the flights of fancy challenge!

The beautiful heart papers are digi downloads from Pink Petticoat, layered up with Coredinations card stock. The pink flowers are Funky Flowers 'Just Pots', I trimmed one of them down with curved scissors as it looked too big and out of balance. I punched matching flowers and popped Doodlebug sugar coated brads through them. Much 3-D foam tape later and I'm done.

Got to go and swap with hubby now, he's been looking after the boys whilst I craft and now he needs to go and clean his work van before anyone else writes sarcastic quips in the dirt streaks!

Papertrey Ink virgin no more!

Thanks for making it to my second huge post of the day!

OK so I haven't bought any papers or stamps much as I'd love to but I did buy a fabulous template which is available to download here. It's a Timeless Template by Lauren Meader and I've been oggling and wishing for PTI stuff mainly thanks to Steph who makes such awesome creations with it all.

So this is what I've been busy making for my best friends birthday present. I've used two challenges for this one, Double Dutch - 'challenge 11 not a card' and Bee Crafty - 'use digi papers'. Big up to both challenges and to Bee who designs and sells her own wonderful digi stamps.

The template was really easy to use and make. I put it all together using white linen card and the patterned papers are digi papers from Pink Petticoat.

I filled it with lots of stamped and digi images as Michelle is a great scrapper but always complains she doesn't have enough card making stuff so I hope she likes this little lot!

The flower on the front was inspired by Lauren too, she has a great tutorial on her blog here to follow. I used a flower Nestabilities die to cut out the tissue paper, stamped in with a pink Memento ink and a K&Co flower stamp then threaded pink elastic through two buttons. The elastic wraps around the box to keep it shut.

Next time I'll follow the instructions and use circle and corner punches for a neater look instead of rushing in with the scissors! Also I'll print in grey scale and do something to cover up the crease dotted lines inside.

Have a go, it's great fun!

Wedding special

Righto, you may need to sit down with a brew and a jumbo bar of chocolate for this post! I'll start off by saying Happy Anniversary to me as me and hubby have been married 6 years today. We've been together for 14 years though so we don't like to do things quickly, in fact we only bought our first house 16 months ago!

It's also our best friends third anniversary on Tuesday so I'm posting their card today and hoping she doesn't look! They were our Best Man and Chief Bridesmaid and then we returned the favour for them!

This card is for several challenges: Pink Elephants fabulous sketch, Charisma Cardz - 'Scrap It', Craft Challenge - 'Embossing' and Sunflowers and Dragonflies - 'monochromatic'. All the DT creations on these blogs are well worth a visit so please try and take the the time to pop over.

The papers are S.E.I. and the one with straight lines on has a lovely silver sheen to it. The photo is of the Bride and Groom, printed onto linen card to give it a soft look. My embossing is cuttlebug Swiss dots folder and the sentiment was printed on the PC.

My friend Michelle doesn't have a blog but she should. This is the anniversary card she made for us:

And I promised to pop some of my wedding photos on didn't I? So here goes:

Cutting our cake

My first pint as a Mrs - shame it doesn't say 'Boddingtons' on the glass, you can take the girl out of Manchester........

During the service - serious stuff - how scared do we look?

Thanks for looking, I'm off to do my next post for the day as have more to show you!

Gorjuss Girl

A quick post today for the Sugar Bowl Challenge:

We 'nipped' out this morning as I'd run out of white card - doh! But ended up being out for several hours at the Outlet Village near us. My hubby had birthday money burring a hole in his pockets and seized the opportunity to do some 'man-shopping' whilst I browsed the Paper Mill Shop! Needless to say I came out with more than just white card - ahem!

Anyway, gorjuss girl is shaded with Copics and the papers are all from DCWV Spring Glitter Stack. I punched the flowers in matching papers and popped some glitter gems in - just for a change!

Got to go, still working on my friends birthday pressie and time is running away with me.

Time for coffee

How cute is this little lady? It's Kiki from C.C. Designs. This coffee cup creation is based on a sketch over at Creative Card Crew and a recipe of 1 ribbon, 2 patterned papers and 3 flowers from Dare U 2 Digi Stamp.

The patterned papers are from DCWV, the ribbons, button and flowers are from my stash and I have no idea where they're from! You can see where I went wrong with my shading and coloured poor Kiki's hair in green over the rollers by mistake - oops!!

Quite chuffed with myself as made my first purchase from Papertrey Ink this morning, I have in mind a gift for my best mate who is celebrating her Birthday today. She's coming round for lunch with her fella on Sunday so all being well I can post a pic then.

Right no hanging about today, presents to make!

Friendship card

I really struggled with this one. I made a rod for my own back by trying to make a card to fit four challenges again - the colours got me!

This is for, Copic Colour Challenge - 'E47, BG23, R85', Sketch & Stash - 'sketch', Creative Inspirations - 'friendship' and La-La Land Crafts - 'stitching'. Phew....

OK so starting with the Copic Colour challenge, I had two of the colours but not R85 so improvised by using Rose Pink ProMarker instead. The cute digi image is Winnie from Willow Design Stamps. The card is based on the sketch from Sketch and Stash and one of their rules is that you follow their sketch and use some new stash and name it on our blogs, so the new stash I've used is the Winnie image AND the two patterned papers which are by Imaginisce - I got them at Hobbycraft earlier this week.

The friendship tag is from Craftwork cards, swished over with a pink Memento ink pad and I did the stitching around the edge with a Plasma Pink Galaxy Marker. The flowers are cut from matching papers with a Cuttlebug die with glitter gems in the middle coloured to match with a brown peel off pen.

Making this has made me forget I woke up in a total mood this morning, We overslept and I didn't get time to wash my hair which generally puts me in a tut - Skippy has nothing on me!

Chin, Chin

Bit of a mixed one here. This is for four challenges....Dawny's Sketch over at Papertake, Passion for ProMarkers colour combo, ABC - 'circles' and My Time To Craft - 'Cheers Me Dear'.

The stamped image and sentiment are from CC Designs, I shaded her with the following ProMarkers: lavender, lilac, amethyst and aubergine and used Copics for her hair. The spotty paper is Doodlebug and I used Hero Arts circle stamps to make the pattern in the corner. The rather fab ribbon was free with a magazine a while back and the brad was from The Range.

It's a yucky, dull and rainy day here today so we're staying in. We had fun this morning playing with a cardboard box - as you do. I thought it would be fun for Zac to take his foam building blocks out and build stuff but he seemed to have more fun emptying the box over his head, walking around with said box on his head and then popping his blocks back in before starting over...

Cupcake and Candy

Hmm, an unusual one for me! Cupcake Crafts have set the challenge to make a shaped card. I needed to make a Birthday card for a little chap who's turning two on Friday and this is it:

The 'lil spaceman in his ship image is from the Digi Stamp Boutique. I was a bit lazy and this one was already coloured in and ready to print. I just re-sized it and printed it on the right hand side of a piece of A4 card. I downloaded the font from Da-Font, I think it's called 'Clink - Clank'. I thought it went with the image well and coloured it with matching ProMarkers. All I did was cut around the image after I'd creased the card with good old fashioned scissors - no digital cutting for me!

I popped a 'lil green man inside the card with a '2' also printed in matching font:

And then I must give a 'big up' to Evelina who is one of the DT at Cupcake Crafts. All the DT were giving away candy last week as part of CC birthday celebrations and I've won this gorgeous selection of goodies from Evelina. Evelina has an amazing blog and designs stamps for Sugar Nellie. Thanks so much Evelina, can't wait to have a play with this lot.

3-D snowflake

Stamptacular have a fab challenge this week to make a card featuring 3-D, Nikki has donated a great prize too. Dutch Dare are asking us to make a 'Christmas in August' card and are offering up a Magnolia stamp as a prize. So here's my combination of the two challenges card:

The 3-D feature is the fact it's a spinning card and the centre circle is suspended on silver thread and spins around! Plus...ta -dah... the snowflake is 3-D too. And it was a bit of an awkward one to make so don't expect to be seeing any more posted here!

The snowflake stamps are from an Artemino set and I've stamped them with various Stazon inks onto acetate then cut them out with Nestabilities circles. The 3-D bit comes from layering them up with huge blobs of silicone glue. The background paper is from Lili of the Valley and the darker paper for the frame is DCWV. I stamped the border strip from the Artemino set.

Here's a close up of the back of the spinner / inside of the card:

And here's a particularly rubbish photo to show the 3-D layering of the snowflake:

Had a lovely time with my parents, Blake slept whilst we ate which was a minor achievement to say the least. I gave him a bath and got him all snuggled up in a cute clean baby grow (in blue, no more of this mistaking for a girl malarkey) and as soon as my parents left he exploded in the nappy department. He has since had another bath and is in another outfit!

Thanks for all the lovely comments you've been leaving recently, very much appreciate every single one of them. I pop by and visit you too as often as I can, I think blog hopping is fast becoming my second favourite hobby

Spread the lurve

This is my creation for Mojo Monday's 101st sketch challenge. It might be my hubby's wedding anniversary card, it might not! It's our anniversary on Sunday and we'll be celebrating our 6th year of wedded bliss, although we've been together for 14 years! I might brave it and share a wedding photo on Sunday.

My hubby doesn't like fussy cards and so this might just be OK for him! The image is a Penny Black Stamp, if you can't see it on the photo, the hearts say 'LOVE' (if you click on the photo it brings up a bigger pic). I coloured them in with a poppy ProMarker and cut with nesties and a punch as I have somehow lost the next size up nestie circle! The heart background and swiss dots are both Cuttlebug embossing folders and the ribbons are attached with eyelets using the good old Big Bite.

You can just see the edge of my new pink easel in the photo! My Dad ad Step Mum are visiting today from Manchester, looking forward to seeing them and cooking them some lunch. I forgot to ring them to say don't bring anything as I'm cooking so I'll wait until a more reasonable hour as I know I'll wake them up if I ring this early.

A bit too much!

Hmm ever made a card and thought 'it's a bit too much'? Well I just have but I'm going to blog it anyway. It's for Papertake's 100th challenge which was to pick any of the 99 so far. I chose Dawny's sketch from 4th May 2009 and also picked the theme of travel / holiday for A Spoon Full of Sugar:

The image is a new digi stamp called Sweet Kiki from All That Scraps. Ice cream in cones always reminds me of summer holidays and this paper from K&Co also makes me think of ice cream too. I think I've overdone it on the colour front!

I went for my first drive in about 3 months this morning. Can you guess where I went? Craft shopping! I took my boys to Hobbycraft and got some papers and a small pink easel.

Blake howled all the way around, ensuring I received plenty of 'can't you stop him crying' looks of pity and when I got to the till the lady said 'maybe she needs a feed?'. SHE???

I know he wasn't in blue but my baby is all boy! That's the fourth time Blake's been referred to as 'she' now! I'll have to get him some very butch outfits.

Another gift bag

I saw the colour combination on Delicious Diva's and thought I'd make another gift bag and tag:

The plain card stock is all DCWV. I stamped the lemon coloured one with orange and pink ink using K&Co clear stamps by Amy Butler. As before, the centre mat is made with a Fiskars border punch and finished with a Doodlebug gem.

We didn't make it to the beach in the city yesterday because we forgot to pop the buggie shade in the car - ooops!

Anyone for Anya?

Yey - today sees the launch of the Anyone for Anya challenge blog. Had to get my card made today even though I should be doing something else:

Obviously it's a Miss Anya image stamp! Shaded with Copics and ProMarkers. As the challenge is 'Sugar and Spice' I've used these uber gorgeous sugar coated papers from Doodlebug. The strip down the side is a Doodlebug 'Stick with it' adhesive transfer which I smothered in bubblegum glitter sugar coating. Very messy but lots of fun! Here's a close up of the scrummy papers:

The Design Team cards are fab - please pop and take a look. Hope the blog is a success ladies.

Quick and simple and an award

Well it's another sunny morning here and we're looking forward to venturing out to the city centre in a while. This card is for Cardvaarks - 'pink, black and white and Creative Inspirations - 'spots, dots and circles':

Well after spending a good couple of hours in my craft room yesterday, I only managed to make this one card, how typical is that? The spotty dotty paper is Doodlebug and the butterfly is from Spellbinders. I cut it on black gloss card and it's a bit tricky to show the detail on but here goes:

I also got this award from Chrissie - thanks Chrissie! Like Chrisse I thought it implied I'm a lazy so and so but I did a double check on the spelling too!

So I need to list five things I like and then pass this on to five other bloggers.

  1. Shoes and handbags
  2. Stash shopping
  3. People watching
  4. The smell of clean washing
  5. Watching my babies sleeping
I'm passing this on to: Sue, Karen, Tammy, Sarita and Patti

Well if we get chance later while we're out we might pop to the market square which is currently a beach! Sounds like something Zac might enjoy. Then home for a lazy afternoon with hopefully some crafting as there are some fab challenges to join in today!

Pretty in Pink

Not sure why I decided to make a rainy day card on the one day we've managed to get constant sunshine? This card is for Mojo Monday 100 day 6 sketch and Stampin' for the weekend 'Pink and Grey':

Pink Petticoat papers, Anya Stamp, Prima gems, Copics

I like this one! The image is a Miss Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm. I coloured her with Copics and popped a few glitter gems on for buttons (what surprise!). The patterned and plain papers are all Pink Petticoat 'pretty doodles' and plain sheets. The gorgeous flower centre gems are by Prima, I don't like to use them as dread running out as they're not cheap but this card deserved them - and I like a bit of sparkle.

My boys are having some time with their Daddy (whoop whoop for me) and I'm going to lock myself in my craft room for an hour or so. We had a very, very messy nappy episode this morning (actually, nappy, baby and baby chair) so I'm going to enjoy some me time.

To brighten my day

It's so dull and dismal here I wanted to make something summery to lift my mood. This is for 3 challenges, Stamp Something ' Birthday', Sugar Bowl - sketch (to include hand made flowers) and Charisma Cardz 'lemon, pink and green':

It's one of my Gorjuss girls stamped and donated by my buddy Sue. I coloured her with Copics and cut the flowers from a Cuttlebug die, popping a few glitter gems in the centre. The rub ons and glitter brads are from Doodlebug.

The colours have turned out a bit dull looking on here, not sure where I'm going wrong with my photography and photoshop at the moment - I need someone to come and give me lessons at home!

Pamper time

This is still one of my favourite 'Lola's' from Pink Petticoat and is for two challenges. Cute Card Thursday 'Lazy Days' and Mojo Monday 100 sketch 5:

The digi stamp is Lola Bubbly from Pink Petticoat and shaded with Copics and a smidge of Glamour Dust. The background spott paper is also from PP but not sure what as I already had it printed off. The blue circles have been embossed in the Cuttlebug and I stuck various size glitter gems on to look like bubbles. Finished off with a faux bow.

Had a friend to visit this morning with her son, it was lovely to see them as we live in different cities and I haven't been out much recently!

Glad it's Saturday tomorrow, James gets to take Zac to the monthly toddler and Daddy club in the morning - so I get some time with just me and Blake.

3 in 1

I've actually managed to make a card and combine it with three challenges. Mojo Monday 100's day 4 sketch, Stamptacularc Sundays 'Beary Special' and Just Magnolia's 'Friendship':

The Tilda in the bear suit is a Magnolia stamp, shaded with ProMarkers mounted on various layers of Core'dinations brights papers. For the stripey background on the sketch, I used a selection of Cuttlebug embossing borders and sanded the paper down afterwards. The friendship sentiment ticket is cut out of a Hot of The Press friendship pad. Never used it before so today it made it's first outing!

Truly Scrumptious

Ooh I found a challenge blog I've not joined before. Truly Scrumptious, this week it's to make anything but a card. So I did:

I made a gift bag and matching tag. The tutorial for the bag can be found here . I used some Bazzill card stock as it was already the right size for the tutorial - very lazy of me! The decorative edge and the mats were made using a Fiskars punch, if you want to have a go, cut a
cm square of card or paper and line up as well as you can centrally before punching. I've done this before with a square edge but not cut away completely like this.

The flowers are from my stash and I think the brads are Papermania. I think this is one of the tidiest bows I've managed to do so far. Shame I've got to undo it to pop some goodies in the bag to give as a gift!

Mojo Monday Day 3

Made day 3 of the Mojo 100 week:

Doodlebug papers, Pink Petticoat image, Copics, punches

Really quick to make this one as I had the image printed and shaded ready and not used! The image is from Pink Petticoat, shaded with copics and the patterned papers are Doodlebug. Lots of punching on this one and half a cuttlebug flower, been wondering what to do with it as one of the petals had torn off.

Christmas Double Challenge

Well it's a gorgeous sunny day here so why not post a chilly Christmas card? This is for two challenges - Creative Card Crew and Simon Says Stamp. Both challenges are 'Christmas in August'. Creative Card Crew have extra prizes this week and some of the DT from Simon Says Stamp have blog candy too so pop over and take a look.

This is based on a sketch by Dawny P. I didn't get on the the DT at Anyone for Anya but I did smuggle myself a guest DT spot so looking forward to that. The first challenge starts this Sunday so if you're into Anya's and Greetings Farm have a go and join in the fun.

The background patterned papers are by DCWV and I think Dovecraft. The plain blue card was embossed through the Cuttlebug and highlighted with glitter gems.

Well Zac is out playing with his grandparents again today - he's a lucky lad. I've got the health visitor coming round in a bit to weigh and measure Blake for his 6 week check. I think he must be at least 13lbs already. I'm going to need a fork lift truck soon to help me out the way my boys are growing!

Frillie Millie's back!

Mojo Monday turns 100 this week and are posting a different sketch challenge each day. This is day 2 - yes I'm behind already!

I turned the sketch on it's side to make this:

The image is a digi stamp and it's brand spanking new from Pink Petticoat, it's one of the newly vamped Frillie Millies and I got my mitts on all four about an hour ago! This one is called 'Ladybird' so I thought I'd use some ladybird papers to match.

The pink paper is orchid, also from Pink Petticoat and the patterned paper is from DCWV. Ribbon is from my stash and the image is shaded with Copics and ProMarkers. Finally the punch is Fiskars. Thanks Liz for some more fab inspiration!

Now I must thank the lovely Chrissie for this award:

Happy Birthday Cupcake Crafts

Cupcake Crafts are celebrating their 1st Birthday this week and have loads of goodies to give away and a fab blog hop to take part in too. Visit Cupcake Crafts to join in the fun.

These cards are for two challenges, Cupcake Crafts 'Something sweet' and One Stop Crafts to use pink and black:

I made a set of six cards as I love making sets and haven't done so in ages. Being as they're pink I got a bit carried away!

I'd run out of my favourite pink card so I printed these on white linen card using Pink Petticoats Orchid paper. Yummy isn't it? Goes so well with the cupcake image which is also from Pink Petticoat and lazily already coloured ready to print. The scalloped mat is made using a Fiskars punch and the other shapes are Nestabilities and punches.

The ribbon is from Debbie Moore I think and attached simply with a staple. I printed a few extra cupcakes to decorate the envelopes.

Hope to get some quiet time this evening to blog hop, so much going on and I'm missing it all

I found my 'Oooh' and 'Zac in a box'!

Well losing my 'oooh' was quite short lived!!

I took advice from Sharon and Lynne, left my craft room in a tidy(ish) state and came downstairs and phoned a friend, not to win a million unfortunately, but to ask for some bubs related advice. Anyway I went back
upstairs and my 'oooh' was waiting up there for me.

This card is for two challenges, Secret Crafters and Our Creative Corner. The challenges are 'Fancy corners' and 'Christmas in August'. I found the majority of my 'oooh' by visiting my friend Sue's blog and seeing her rather fabby recessed window cards. You can see them here, please take a look.

The tutorial to make a card like this can be found here. I changed the measurements and did a double crease down the spine of the card to give it more depth and support. I used papers from a 6x6 stack I have but the cover is missing - sorry, the image is a digi stamp from Willow Designs and I fell a bit in love with him! Shaded with Copics and ProMarkers and highlighted with Glamour Dust. My decorative corners are the glittery holly as I don't own any corner punches or flourishes or anything remotely fitting in the decorative corner box! Hope this will do.

Here's the inside:

And to finish and hopefully give you a bit of a giggle:

Zac-in-a-box! He took the lid of his activity cube and climbed inside. He did actually get stuck but I managed to take a photo before we rescued him. He was properly wedged in bless him. I wish I'd popped my camera onto video mode but sometimes I'm just not quick enough in the brain cell department.

Two challenges

This card fits two challenges today, Passion for ProMarkers and Creative Card Crew.

Digi Stamp Boutique, Nestabilities, Patterned paper

The image is a digi stamp from the
Digi Stamp Boutique. Shaded with ProMarkers in Cocoa, Henna, Rose Pink, Blossom, Ivory and Blush. The patterned paper and border are both digi papers from Daisie Company. I thought the papers were spot on for colour match but somehow the whole card looks a bit dull on this photo. It didn't in photo shop so may have another tinker with it later.

Doh - I've edited this post, those of you who visited earlier will have seen a request here for a stamped image of Surfing Ian. Well, ahem, I've had a total 'Mumnesia' moment and realised I got my dates totally wrapped around my head and I can wait for the stamp to come in stock. Sorry and thanks for helping!

Well, hubby is working today (groan) and I'm more than ready for him to come home and help out with the boys. Blake actually slept through us eating tea last night which was a welcome first! Long may it continue.

3-2-1

If you're the same age as me or older you probably have a mental picture of Dusty Bin in your head after my post title! It actually refers to the challenge at Stamptacular this week to use 3 brads, 2 patterned papers and 1 flower.

K&Co stamps, Pink Petticoat papers, papermania brads

I really like this one although I admit I seem to be doing a good line in monochrome cards after stating a while back that I found them really difficult. Eat my own words and all....

The stamped flower and sentiment are by K&Co, the papers are from Pink Petticoat and the brads are by Papermania. I saw a similar sketch on a challenge somewhere that I missed and this gave me some influence on the layout. Sorry I can't remember where I saw it.

Me and Mum went out this morning in the pouring rain to the shops with the double buggy, bit of an experience for me getting the boys ready together and into the car, bit of a test run for when I'm on my own. Friday is my first day solo with no help!! Mum goes back to Spain tomorrow afternoon.

Right, off to pop my feet up whilst I still can

Charming award

Wow Summer's officially back! Maybe only for a day or two but the sunshine always puts me in a good mood. This card is for the Stamp Something weekly challenge which is to stamp something and include a charm:

Hero arts, inks, charm

It's a special card for a special little baby girl who celebrates her Angelversary tomorrow. I made some very precious friends when my first baby son died and we always send cards on special dates to keep our babies with us.

The stamping is the pattern at the bottom. I used some dot stamps from Hero Arts and a selection of pink inks. How cute is the little teddy bear charm?

I just received this award from Pascale so thought I'd pop it on now while I remember! Thanks Pascale, such a thoughtful award to be given. If you haven't seen Pascale's blog before, where have you been looking? Pop over and take a peek!

In turn I'm going to pass it on to the first three blogging buddies to comment on this post and then I'm going to take some inspiration from their blogs in return.
