Something to smile about

The postie delivered a few new stamps this morning which made me smile. Itching to use them, I found the perfect challenge on Cute Card Thursday. 'Happy Mail' - make a card to cheer someone up or make their day.

Rachelle Anne Miller Stamp, Pro-Markers, Nesabilities, gems, rub ons, border punch.

Stamped the image in Memento black ink before colouring with Pro-Markers. My Copics have arrived (yey!) but I've not done a colour chart yet or had time to fiddle about with them so I'll stick to what I know until I've had some time to practice. I stamped the image twice and cut the flower out and mounted it on foam to raise it off the card a little.

I have learnt something new with Pro-Markers by accident today though! I did a spot of highlighting with a Sakura white souffle pen and then decided to add a spot of yellow to the flower. It actually took some of the dark colour away and highlighted nicely. Here's a close up so you can see what I mean:

Right, I know I'm going to sound very old now as it's only 2PM - but I'm off for an afternoon nap! I need all the rest I can get before the next bubs arrives and deprives me of sleep for at least the next 6 months.
