Katy set the challenge this week over at Colour Create to use Lemon, Pink Sorbet and Chocolate. I was over the moon and full of inspired, yummy and bright ideas until I read the optional extra...'shabby chic'. I shuddered, I just don't do shabby chic! But never one to not give something a try....
Pink Petticoat Image, Copics, Fiskars Punch, Brads, Versa Colour ink, DCWV ribbon
So, bright sunny thoughts out of the window and trying to turn my hand to shabby chic, here's the result! I was determined to use this image from Pink Petticoat's Sweet Sundae collection as the challenge colours made me think of Neapolitan ice creams from my childhood. So I shaded it with Copics and added some neutral shades to 'shabby' it down a tad!
The mounts are nestabilities 'labels 4' and the border punch is from fiskars. I went round the edges of everything with a mini Versa Color ink pad in Cocoa. I also appear to have gone round my fingers quite well. The ribbon is from Die Cuts With a View and the brads are from Bazzill.
We managed to get quite a lot done today, including clearing out Zac's room and putting up some shelves and pictures and mowing and strimming the lawn and a spot of weeding. Well I pointed and made suggestions whilst James did all the DIY. Come on, I can hardly bend down. Although I did help out with the weeding as last time James pulled up a load of poppies and tulips!
Off for a nice cold drink now and a back rub if I can bribe him to give me one!

PS Betty - will post tart au citron recipe later in week for you

It must be quite some wavelength that we both appear to be on! Both our posts starting with 'Oh Dear' and both more shabby than chic! Snap!
ReplyDeleteYour card is fab, could just have a slurp of that ice cream right now.
I actually got round to doing some ironing that has been in the bottom of the ironing basket since last November. The sun made me think of white trousers, which I hadn't worn or needed since our cruise last year. What a slacker!
