Sweet Tooth

Another one of those cards I'm not so sure I like but I'm posting it anyway. This is for two challenges (tame I know!) Creative Inspirations set the sketch with brads or eyelets and Sunflowers and Dragonflies suggest - 'Sweet Tooth'. I won last weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations and have a bag of scrummy ribbons on their way to me!



The Cupcake is a digi stamp from Pink Petticoat and the little girl sitting on top is a Squiggles rubber stamp I won in some candy from Evelina. I shaded her with ProMarkers and surprisingly added some Glamour Dust!



I did lots of embossing for the strips and added some patterned paper also from Pink Petticoat. My giant eyelet is actually a grommet so I hope it counts. It's another one of the set that came with my Big Bite - I've been so brave to use two in the space of a week! The sort of thing I hang on to for ages before using.

And I must show you this fabulous card my friend Sue made for me:



It's a lovely thank you card in my favourite pinks (which Sue doesn't enjoy using at all!). Isn't it gorgeous? I gave her a little box of goodies when we met up last week and it was so worth it to see her face and of course to receive this in return. We've got a stash admiring / shopping trips planned for next month, can''t wait. A new shop has opened in her village and we've realised we're in driving distance of some very interesting sounding craft shops nearer my way too!

Have a fairy nice day

I had better post this now or I'll have missed Creative Card Crew's deadline for Linda's 'Fairy nice day' challenge. Still have lots of time for Flutterby Wednesday on Danni's blog who also has the theme of fairies or butterflies along with pink as it's her favourite colour.
I got the sketch from Mojo Monday and Cupcake Crafts are asking us to make cards with curls and swirls - phew!



As you can see it's a bit different to my usual thing, I had someone in mind when I made this and she's not so into all the cutesy and bright stuff I normally do! The fairy stamp was a freebie with Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine (I think), shaded with ProMarkers and highlighted with Glamour Dust.



The gorgeous patterned paper is off a Bearly Mine CD I won on a Stamptacular challenge, it's packed full of papers and such a fab prize. The flower was also a freebie that arrived in a parcel with some stamps, it had a huge yellow centre which I removed and replaced with a pearl brad.

My swirls are embossed on the two strips and sanded back to show the white core.



The pink pearls are actually hot fix gems but can I find my Bejeweller? No so I used a brush, glossy accents and I think I stuck my fingers together more than I stuck these down!

Sketch Saturday DT Call

Sketch Saturday are on the hunt for new Design Team members, here's the card I'm submitting:



It's based on the fab sketch below. The current DT are going to choose their favourite 12 entries and if I'm one of the lucky 12, there's another stage to go through!



The stamped image is a Snow Bunnie from CC Designs, fab set and enjoyed using her. I shaded her with Copics and ProMarkers, highlighted with Glamour Dust for snow and the ovals are Cookie Cutter dies mounted on 3-D foam. I forgot I had these papers, they are digi downloads from Mad-About-Cards and I've never used them until now, I should really find a way to visualise of all the digi stuff I have. Any ideas without printing out a small rain forest?



I made a bracelet for a lovely blogging buddie not long ago and it got me back in the swing with my beads so after I'd wrapped some ribbon I got to work with beads and wire:

Finally I made the pretty snow trim with my Fiskars border punch and added some glitter gems to the snowflakes. The sentiment is done with Doodlebug rub-ons, again with Glamour Dust round the edge, I do like my sparkle! The white snowflake was one I had in my stash.



So that's my entry, all I can do now is cross my fingers. It's not too late for you to apply but you need to do it by 8pm today!

Guest DT spot Anyone for Anya

This is my first Guest Design Team card for Anyone for Anya. The theme this week is pink and white:



Challenges wise My Time To Craft say - 'Polka Dot Party' and the sketch is from Little Paper Shop - a challenge I've not joined before.

The spotty papers are by Doodlebug as is the sugary flower in the corner. Miss Anya is coloured with Copics with a spot of paper piecing and the nesties 'sitting out of the box' and finally layered up on 3-D foam. I made the spots on her skirt with a white Galaxy pen as it didn't work when I tried to use a lighter colour Copic or the blender pen.

The flowers are from a Doodlebug frills strip with brads popped in the centre. You can spot the Nesties and the Cuttlebug embossing by now!



I even popped some tiny glitter gems on her bows:



And to end with a giggle, Susie posted a pic of her desk and asked 'what's on your desk?'. Ahem, this:



I do tidy away after every card (most of the time!). If you want to see tidy pics of my workroom they are here.



And look who was in my room with me when I took the photo? Blake looking cheeky and happy 'cos he's in the room Zac's not allowed in!

It's not Terry's it's mine!

Sorry about the title, it's all I've had going through my head since I started this card:



Vikki and Susie set this fab colour combo over at Die Cuts Dreams and the sketch is from Sketch Saturday. Both blogs are currently seeking Design Team members to get applying if you want to be one of their crew.



The image is a Miss Anya stamp shaded with Copics and the papers I've had for so long I don't know who they're by, but I've been itching to use them and how perfect are they for this card? I used a selection of brads on the flowers which I simply cut from the papers and mounted on orange card, Boy could I use a new pair of scissors for cutting out fiddly things - full size ones for me at the moment!! The sentiment is a chipboard one by Craft Accessories.

Well the sun is shining but I can't hang my washing out as we have a wasps nest in the garden right next to my rotary line -grrrrr. So my conservatory looks like I've sub-let it to a launderette!

Strawberry Mint Julep

Is the scrummy colour scheme set by Cute Card Thursday:



And the fab sketch is by Sketch Saturday. I had fun with this one, the image is a freebie digi stamp from Pollycraft (woo-hoo we love a freebie) called Cherry Kisses Snowball and the patterned papers are another freebie that came in a magazine. I shaded Cherry with Copics and added a ton of Glamour Dust just for a change and tried the sitting out of a nestie cutting technique again. The stamped sentiment is by MSE and the snowflake is a punch.



Today is one for smiling, I've just made the top 5 in last weeks challenge at Stampin' 4 the Weekend, thrilled with that. I've just come back from lunch with my lovely friend Sue (thanks for the bowl of chips!), I picked her up from her work, last time I went to that building I was made redundant so was a bit weird going there.

Lunch was fab though and was so great to catch up with Sue and to give her the little crafting gift I made earlier this week. And as if that's not smiles enough, the postie has been and brought me some rather delish stamps from Tracey at Dies to Die For - speedy service there Tracey - *mwah*.

Spangly Sixty and a winner too!

My Mum in Law asked me to make a 60th card for a friend's Husband:



I think I like it! I went with four challenges, Cupcake Crafts set the colour combo -'red, white and blue', Our Creative Corner have the theme - 'stars and stripes', ABC challenge say- 'D is for die cuts' and finally this is my interpretation of the rather fab sketch over at Inspirational Card Sketches.



I changed the squares on the sketches to stars, hope that's OK? The 60 is printed from a Pink Petticoat monogram set, coloured flat with Copics and coated in Glamour Dust, I prefer to say it spangles rather than sparkles as it's a card for a chap!

The star mounts are Nestabilities and the little metal star is a WR Memory Keepers Grommet. It was pink and blue, but changed to red with the help of a ProMarker. It's the first time I've used a grommet (they came with the Big Bite) and I had to google the instructions on how to set one. It's a good job I did too. Added lots of 3-D foam to give this one some extra dimension.

And another reason to smile today, I won last weeks challenge over at Creative Inspirations! I've got a fabulous goodie bag of ribbons coming my way. Thanks so much Rach.

Might be back with more later, going to meet my crafting buddy Sue later on for lunch, got to smuggle her out of the office first though!
