Double embossing

This fortnight at Bee Crafty our challenge is 'Embossing'. We want to see your embossed creations and of course a digi image too. The design team have come up with some fab ideas and some great tips too so please take a look at their creations. We also have to say goodbye to the very lovely Elaine who sadly has had to step down due to other commitments, so sorry to see you go Elaine. Here's my embossed creation:

I found a technique new to me called double embossing over at The Cuttlebug Spot, if you haven't tried it before, it's certainly worth a go and there's a fab tutorial over there too. I used 'Seated Bunny', I absolutely love this little fella, his expression does it for me!

I'm joining in with these challenges too:
I followed some tips from the rest of the design team on faux stitching from our last challenge for this one as I wasn't overly pleased with my 'shabby chic' look last time! I used a matt pad this time to pierce the holes neatly and then drew in the stitches with a white gel pen. I also added some stitched ribbon over some plain grosgrain ribbon - just to be sure! I kept seated bunny plain and simple with just the two colours and then rounded off all the corners to match the embossed frame.

Can't wait to see what you create.
Hugs

Mojo cocktail

Oooh I just lurve these colours together!

I've made this simple card for these challenges:

The gorgeous cocktail stamp is from the 'Cheers to you' set by Stampin' Up, I just love it and you can own this set too by contacting me as I'm now a Stampin' Up demonstrator (I'll be creating a new blog especially for SU stuff soon). I also used Pixie Pink and Tempting Turquoise card stocks and matching grosgrain ribbon too. So lovely to have everything co-ordinated.

I had to 'nip' out this morning to Argos to collect a V-tech camera I'd ordered for Zac's second birthday on Friday. I thought it would be a good idea to take him with me (don't worry he hasn't seen the camera!!) as it was raining a bit and he loves splashing about in puddles. So wellies and raincoat on - out we went. It took me flippin' forever to get from the car to the shop and back because he had to stop and jump in every puddle and say 'hello' and bye-bye' to every poor soul who walked by us. Then we nipped in Boots to get some ointment for Blake and he discovered the 'hidden' cupboards on the front of the pharmacy counter. I nearly died when I looked down and he'd strewn about 500 flyers and leaflets all over the floor!

Next time we'll take the buggie!

Two very cute lil bugs

The first lil bug is the card I made for Secret Crafters Challenge which is 'Cute as a bug'

Alota Stamp Image, DCWV papers

I set myself a second challenge not to use Doodlebug papers or pink. Think I've been getting a bit samey - if that's a word! The stamp is from Alota, I think called Lily Ladybug and it comes as part of a set. Shaded with Copics, to match the DCWV papers which I've had for ever and never used.

The second lil bug is much cuter and is a photo of Zac having his first dip in the paddling pool - the best £2.99 I've ever spent. He loved it, especially going down the slide and landing with a splash.

Dinner was scrummy last night and I'm looking forward to another slice of chocolate fudge cake in a while.

First dip in the Sugar Bowl!

This is the first time I've joined a challenge at the Sugar Bowl. Basically because I don't have any Sugar Nellie stamps! This stamped image is another one kindly given to me by my friend Sue.

Sugar Nellie stamped image, Doodlebug papers, Copics

I shaded the image with copics and then used various Doodlebug papers to follow the sketch. Not sure if I like this one, feels a bit 'busy' for me!

News of a new challenge blog. For those of you who like images by The Greetings Farm, Dawny P has set up a blog 'Anyone for Anya'. Challenges start on the 25th August.

Busy day today, friends visiting this morning then I become Domestic Goddess again as cooking birthday dinner for my hubby, his parents and my mum. His birthday isn't until Monday but celebrating tonight. I'm making, baked breaded Camembert for starter, then steak with potatoes dauphinoise and various veg followed by home made chocolate fudge cake, providing I can follow the recipe I've found!

Wish me luck, it could be a stressful one!

Floral Summer Fantasy

Sorry no blogging from me yesterday, sleep deprivation got the better of me I'm afraid. This card is for 2 challenges, Papertake Weekly where the challenge is 'four seasons' and A Spoon Full of Sugar's 'Floral Fantasy':

Pink Petticoat image, various flowers, Fiskars punch, Doodlebug papers

The image is from one of the first I got from Pink Petticoat! Lola at the beach - summer is my chosen season! I think the colours are lovely and summery and the sunflowers speak for themselves. How much I'd love to be in a bikini (obviously without the baby sag!), by a pool with a cocktail in my mitts. Hmm, maybe next year!

Poor Blake's been constipated but I fixed that by eating a curry last night, it took it's time getting to work on him but believe me when I tell you he's better now!

Somewhere beyond the sea...

The lovely Joey set this weeks challenge at Creative Card Crew - 'Under the Sea'. In a bit of a beach mood after my flip flop card I came up with this:

Pink Petticoat images, Copics, Doodlebug papers, Nestabilities

The digi images are from Pink Petticoat, shaded with Copics and mounted on mats cut using nestabilities. The torn patterned paper and the plain card are from Doodlebug - what a surprise!

Had an interesting day, we had planned a trip to a fun day at our local children's centre but it was raining heavily. Rather than stay couped up all day, me and Mum got the boys ready in the double buggy under the rain cover and ventured out! I got flippin' soaked through. Zac went to have his face painted but wouldn't sit still so just had a snake painted on his face instead, which he rubbed before it had dried. Then, with his reigns on he made a dash fop the outside play area just as it really hammered it down, dragging me behind him with no coat on. Drowned rat springs to mind.

Here's to a dry day tomorrow!

Guess the baby weight blog candy

Oooh this was a tough one for me. Cupcake Craft Challenge this week is beach themed. Eventually I came up with this:

Border punch, dimension sticker

I rummaged through my stash for beach themed stuff and found I had no beachy stamps and I didn't fancy the digi images I had today. I have a drawer full of bits and bobs from a holiday nearly two years ago waiting patiently to be put in a scrapbook and found some dimensional stickers and tags. So I cropped the tag down and popped the flip flops on. Then the umming and aaahing commenced as I couldn't decide what to do next. So I didn't.

We went to get Blake weighed then picked Mum up from the airport and then I finished the card with my new Fiskars sunshine border punch.

So, I am offering up some mystery blog candy to the person who guesses correctly or closest to Blake's weight today!!! His birth weight was 9lbs 9ozs and he'll be four weeks old tomorrow.

Please leave me a comment and have a guess at his weight in pounds and ounces only and I'll reveal the winner and the candy along with his weight tomorrow after 8pm. I'm the least technical person I know so if one or more of you guesses right or close, I'll pop the names in hat and get my Mum to draw the winner out!!

Gorjuss girl

Well I think she's a Gorjuss girl anyway! She was a stamped gift from my friend Sue. Anyway I thought she'd be perfect for this sketch challenge from Mojo Monday.

Sugar Nellie Stamp, Copics, Cookie Cutters, Nestabilities, Doodlebug paper

I chose the paper first! The colours feel so summery as was the weather this morning. I chose the image to match and then worked on the layout. I just can't do anything except square cards, so adapted the sketch a little.

I shaded Gorjuss girl with Copics (I hope I'm improving now) and used Quickutz Cookie Cutters to cut out the rounded edge squares and Nestabilities for the circles. The backing card is coordinations and the flower is from Papermania, although the colours weren't right so I altered them with Copics.

Well, my Dad and step mum are on their way and the boys and hubby are fast asleep - alright for some eh? We've got a busy day tomorrow - dropping Zac off at his Grans, take Blake to baby clinic to get him weighed etc and then pick my Mum up from the airport. Great she's coming, rubbish as James goes back to work on Wednesday - boo hiss.

Cherry on top...

Well that's better - the sun is shining, all I can hear from outside is the whirr of strimmers and lawnmowers. Summer has returned if only to be interrupted by the yell and howls of my two little fellas!!

I've decided to brave it and enter a Design Team call (eek!). It's for the Creatalicious Challenges Blog. To be in with a chance, you need to make a card based on the sketch provided and this is my entry:

Doodlebug patterned paper, CC Designs Stamps, Copics, Nestabilities

I've popped two photos on for a change thinking I'd show the layers I added on the flowers but they don't show up very well! The stamped image is from CC Designs Gingersnaps Celebrate set. I love these and can see I'll get lots of use out of them.

I stamped the images with Memento ink and then shaded with Copics to match the Doodlebug paper. Yes it's the same paper I used for my card yesterday! The mini cupcakes were punched out and layered on nestabilities Dahlias to look like the flowers on the sketch. Finished off with a trio of glitter gems. Fingers crossed......

And before I go I thought I'd brave it and pop a few pics taken earlier today. Very brave of me as I don't like having my photo taken, let alone sharing.

Me and my 'tiny pop' Blake

Me, Blake, Daddy (James) and Zac - Zac wanted to escape to play with Grandma and Grandad!

Got a bug!

Right it's been another whirlwind of a day and I just have time to pop this on whilst James finishes off the dinner I've started. We're having Spanish tonight! Anyway, this is based on Jill's sketch from Secret Crafters:

Alota stamps, Doodlebug papers, nestabilities, Copics

I saw this image on Natalies blog and had to rush and own it for myself. It's an Alota stamps Ladybug image and I got the set from Dies to Die For. Shaded with Copics and layered on plain and patterned Doodlebug papers.

And now I must thank Chrissie properly for the three blog awards she has given me recently. Thanks Chrissie, really value your friendship. Before I pass them on, the circle of friends award means I have to divulge 5 pieces of information about myself and ask the recipients to do the same - keep going to find out my five things and the girls I'm passing these awards on to.

Right then, five things about me I haven't already blogged about!
  1. I don't think it was all baby weight!
  2. When my boys are asleep, instead of resting or doing any housework I prefer to sneak off to my craft room
  3. I really want to paint a wall in my kitchen bright pink (everything else is white)
  4. I'm always too hot!
  5. I'd like a champagne lifestyle on lemonade pockets
So now I'm passing these awards to some lovely friends:

Sue
Keryn
Steph
Donna
Joey

Cheers

What a day....we dropped Zac off at his Grandparents and then went to register Blake's birth. The registrar asked how old Zac was and when we said 19 months she asked if we were mental (!)- I imagine I am a little bit!

Anyway, today's card is based around another top sketch from Dawny over at Papertake. If you didn't know, Dawny is also starting up a new challenge blog Anyone for Anya for Greetings Farm stamp challenges. DT call on now! I'm also entering this into the Charmed Cards Copics Blog Candy draw. There's a link and pic in my side bar - Phew!

CC Designs stamp, Doodlebug papers, gems, Copics

Dawny provided another inspiring sketch and I've been itching for Mr Postie to deliver me these stamps and they arrived this morning. I'd already planned my card for this challenge so chuffed with the very speedy delivery I got from Tracy at Dies to Die For.

I stamped the image, shaded and cut her out and popped her on 3D foam to give her some pop. The strips of paper are from Doodlebug and I stuck a few white gems on too.

I just have to give a quick apology to Chrissie, she gave me a couple of awards this week and I haven't had chance to get them on here yet, I will I promise - time is running away with me this week!

In need of matchsticks.....

.......to keep my eyes open! Feeds every couple of hours overnight are starting to take their toll on me. Anyway, not one to give up that easily, I made this for the Colour Create Challenge:

Pink Petticoat image, Copics, Doodlebug papers

The image is from Pink Petticoat and coloured with Copics, mounted on a nestabilities of some sort - I don't know which one without dashing back upstairs to find out! The papers are Doodlebug. The photo is a bit lopsided isn't it? Maybe I'll sort that out tomorrow when we get home - got to go and register the little mans birth.

All of a flutter

I've made this card based on a fab sketch over at Mojo Monday:

K&Co stamps, Stazon ink, Nestabilities, punches, sentiment
The images are all stamped from two K & Company stamp sets, I've had them a while but really have to be in the mood for stamping. I thought it would make a change to create my own background and to get good use out of these stamps. All stamped with black Stazon ink. The sentiment is from Papermania and came ready mounted, I'd decided to use this before anything else so it also set my monochromatic scheme too.
My boys are being amazing today, we went for a walk to the park and they're both having an afternoon nap at the moment - not sure how I'm going to cope once hubby goes back to work, Still I have him for another week and then my Mum is flying over for a week after that so I don't have to worry just yet!

Vintage Blue

Hmm blue and white along with vintage really isn't my bag but I decided to give it a go anyway as I do enjoy a challenge from Colour Create.

Stamped image, pearls, flowers, gems

This image is one of the ones Sue stamped for me, I don't know who it's by though. Thanks Sue, it came in handy very quickly!

I skimmed over the image with ink pads and added a little shading with copics, cut it out using oval nesties and stuck pearls around the edges. The flowers are Prima, highlighted using Galaxy markers and lush gems popped in the centres. I had to colour the large one using Pro Markers as was very turquoise to start with. The border is I think from a Heidi Grace alphabet pack, I'm not sure as no longer have the box! I went around the edge with a blue Stazon ink pad.

Not my usual thing but glad I gave it a try!

Polka Dots and some awards too

Sharon has set the challenge this week at Creative Card Crew to use polka dots. I love my dotty Doodlebug papers and found this cute new image to use too:

Image - Digi Boutique, Doodlebug paper, Copics

The image is Millie Mouse with flowers and she's available at the Digi Stamp Boutique. I shaded her with Copics, mounted on Nestabilities and layered up some white card with polka dot papers in Bubblegum. I haven't got time to do anything complicated!

And I've been lucky enough to receive a couple of awards too from Joey and Alicia. Thanks so much to both of you. Make sure you find some time to check out both their blogs, you'll be glad you did, some fab creations to be oggled at!

So I'm going to pass the Beautiful Blogger Award on to:
Chrissie, Sue, Kim, Sharon and Donna

And the One Lovely Blog Award to:
Pascale, Wendy, Michele, Saskia and Betty

Wheely Good Fun!

Phew hot isn't it? I'm not going to moan today as I've managed to keep cool with my cooling tower on in the living room - bliss. Cute Card Thursday set this challenge - to use wheels, I decided on a girly card:

Pink Petticoat Image, Copics, Doodlebug paper, Fiskars border punch

Felt the need to use some of my favourite colours and put this one together quite quickly. Image and sentiment are from Pink Petticoat, shaded with Copics and mounted with labels nestabilities.

Got a big smile on my face today as I just found out that I won last weeks challenge at Stamptacular Sunday and a prize is on it's way to me. They have a great challenge this week - 'party animal', I've got my card ready but will post it tomorrow as I won't have time to make anything tomorrow with visitors coming nd midwife to visit.

Was nice to catch up on blog hopping last night, I've got a couple of awards I need to pop on here and thank the senders too. Promise I'll get it done in the next few days.

Too flippin hot!

I know I should be thankful it's not freezing but I'm just too hot! Oh for air conditioning right now to calm the humidity. Anyway, enough moaning from the pregnant one.....

Juliet set this colour combo at Colour Create - powder pink, pistachio green and aqua with optional extra to use buttons. Here's mine:

Rachelle Anne Miler stamp, nestabilities, Copics, Button brads, flowers

I love this stamp, it's such a cutie. Shaded with Copics and mounted on ovals. I had some tiny button brads which I think are Making Memories so popped them through some paper flowers from Sarah's cards.

I'm feeling the need to make some brighter cards or something more me as I seem to be getting in a bit of a rut recently. I don't really want to stop with the blogging until the day I go in hospital so I'm determined to keep going - 11 days to go!!!!

Magnolia Summer - whatever the weather

This card covers two challenges, Joey has set the challenge 'whatever the weather' at Creative Card Crew and Just Magnolia's is 'Summer'

Magnolia stamp, Doodlebug Papers, Nestabilities, Copics, Papermania flowers

I really wanted to make a summery card as it's so gorgeous outside today but didn't have any particularly summery Magnolia images. So the next best thing was to use summer colours. Hope it's worked.

Image shaded with Copics and then cut out and mounted on oval nestabilities. The papers are by Doodlebug (just for a change!) and the flowers are by Papermania. I bought a few packets of them while back and this is the first time I've put them to use.

Zac is much better today, thanks for all the kind well wishes. He's napping at the moment so I'm expecting the doorbell to ring and disturb him any minute as we've got a cot bed being delivered today.

Peepo

Ooh I love it when the postie brings goodies. I only ordered these papers and this stamp yesterday and they arrived today. Mind you, it will be my final stash splurge in quite some time to come. Dawny has set another fab sketch challenge over at Papertake and this is my card:

Rachelle Anne Miller Stamp, Copics, Nestabilities, Doodlebug papers

I wanted to use these papers, the stamp and Dawny's sketch and was so chuffed that the patterned paper went so well with the flowers on the image so I took my colours from there. Thankfully I had the right shades of Copics to match. I left out the sentiment, hope that's OK.

Had one of Zac's little friends to visit this morning so it's been a lovely state of chaos here! All quiet now though and off to piece together some favour boxes.

Mmm Choc n Orange

No not a photo of a chocolate orange, a card! Colours set by this weeks challenge over at Dare you to Digi Stamp.

Image Digi Boutique, Copics, Doodlebug papers, Nestabilities

I found this gorgeous Ruby image on Digi Boutique, isn't she sweet? It's the first time I've used an image from there and I really like it, will be doing more shopping! Image coloured with Copics and highlighted with a few glitter gems just because. Papers are from Doodlebug and the ribbons were in my scrap ribbon box, which by the way is massive and should never run empty!

I also want to say thanks to Joey for this fab award. Such a nice surprise to receive it.

In turn, for their support I'd like to pass this award on to: Chrissie, Wendy, Donna and Dolly

I must also thank Alicia and Ramona for passing me the honest scrapper award too. As I've already had it, I won't post another 10 things about me.
