A Card for Paige and a plea for help

I made this card for a very, very brave young lady called Paige. Erin is calling for as many of us as possible to make a card for a very poorly little girl and her family. Erin's neighbour Paige (aged 12) was in a serious boating accident and lost part of her arm. Please visit Erin's blog to find out more and to send a card too.

I made this card for Paige from several challenges, Truly Scrumptious provided the sketch and 'Indian Summer', Papertake - 'fairies or angels', and Copic Colour Challenge set the colour combo.

E04,R02, G99, YG67, Y15, Y17, RV21, RV23, E51, E00

The patterned paper is DCWV and all plain is Coredinations. The sweet little digi image is from The Digistamp Boutique. I didn't have any of the Copics for this weeks colour combo so I opted for as close as I could get, didn't realise how bad the shading was on the hair until I took the photo! (I was in a dim lit room while my boys slept).

I added a touch of sparkle with Glamour Dust and glitter gems and that's it. I think I have to link to Erin's blog now and post her the card too as she will hand deliver it to Paige.

Swirly Wedding

My friend asked me to make her a card for a wedding she's going to tomorrow:

The sketch is from Friday Sketchers and the swirls, curls and hearts theme is from Charisma Cardz. The image stamp and patterned papers are all Pink Petticoat, I used a touch of lilac Copics and some Glamour Dust to give it some sparkle. The plain papers are Coredinations and I printed the sentiment on the PC.

I'm chuffed to bits actually, I won myself a guest DT spot for the next two weeks with Charisma Cardz so please pop over and take a look next week and the week after that 'cos I'll need your support. I've also got guest DT spots coming up with Anyone for Anya and Copic Colour Challenge blogs.

The wedding reception tomorrow is at the venue where me and James got married......happy days!
Back later with another quick card.

Swimming at last

My second post today and a very quick one for Friday Sketchers before I blink and miss the deadline:

I made this for my Mum. She lives in Spain and has been a star this year, flying over to look after me and my little fella Zac for the last two weeks of my pregnancy and the first few days of life with Blake. Then flying back again to look after me when James went back to work as I couldn't do much for 6 weeks after the operation. This is to say thank you and well done too - my Mum is shall we say of pensionable age (!) and has finally braved it and been swimming for the first time. With those giant foam spaghetti floats for help of course. So proud of her.

So I used Doodlebug papers and rub ons and the fab download is from Bee Crafty - only 99p - how ace is that?

Got to go, James is off to football now.

Stamping with ProMarkers

Recessed window card number two:

This was a fun card to make. I wanted to try something new for me with ProMarkers and quite like the result. This card is for Passion for ProMarkers challenge set by Caryn and it's - 'Girly and Glittery', The Pink Elephant - 'Recipe, 1 ribbon, 2 squares and something that sparkles', Creative Card Crew - 'pink, black and white' and La-La Land Crafts - 'a bit of bling'.

You can find the tutorial link on how to make a recessed window card on my previous post here. It's my second attempt at one of these fab handmade tissue paper flowers and if you want to try it the tutorial link is here. So where are the ProMarkers you may ask? Well I stamped the flowers on the 7 layers of tissue paper with Carmine. Got the idea from the Passion for ProMarkers blog, there's a great tutorial on stamping on tissue to make a candle. It's really easy to do and the colour has come out a lot better than when I used Memento ink last time. The girly and glittery bits are the pinkness and the DCWV paper has oodles of glitter in it - honestly!

And here's what the inside looks like. I don't often do insides but this type of card deserves it.

Really enjoyed these challenges but so many more to try and fit in before the week is out!

Sketch Saturday 66

There's a fab sketch this week over on Sketch Saturday, could make several cards with this one, really easy to work with. Also made this for Cute Card Thursday - 'New Beginnings', Stamp Something - 'Animal Something', Stampin' for the Weekend - 'Anything Baby' and One Stop Crafts - 'Cute and Cuddly'.

The sweet ladybug and baby image is a stamp from Alota Stamps, it's a lovely set and the first time I've used this particular one. Shaded with Copics an highlighted with Glamour Dust to sparkle the wings, shoes and eyes. The papers are Doodlebug and Pink Petticoat as are the punched flowers. The sentiment is Doodlebug rub-ons. They don't show up too well but I've popped glitter gems in the centre of the flower embellishments and on the patterned paper too.

Had one of those days so far when I've got loads done. Not sure how as every time I took something out of the washing basket to take downstairs, Zac put it back in again for me! Wish he had the same ethos with his toys.

Summer lovin'

Well it officially feels like Summer's been and gone so it was good to make a Summer themed card today amidst the thunder, lightning and hail!

The Summer theme comes from Die Cut Dreams, the sketch is by Dawny at Anyone for Anya, I used a recipe of 3 buttons, 2 patterned papers and 1 ribbon from Cupcake Crafts and my favourite combination of colours from Copic Creations.

I shaded Miss Anya with orange and pink Copics, my favourite colour combo (along with anything with pink in it!), the large patterned paper is from Pink Petticoat and the diddy dots from Doodlebug. I couldn't find the paper I wanted in my stash so I printed the large spot paper off in 'papaya' and shaded the dots in with Copics to get the colours I wanted.

The ribbon is from Hobbycraft the cute buttons are My Minds Eye and the flower is from my stash. Hmm, I can tell I need to get my little photo studio cube thingymagig out as I took these pics outside and even though I've photo shopped the life out of it, it doesn't look anything near as pink as it is really.

I also got this lovely award from Caryn at Glitter Me Silly. Thanks so much Caryn, it's really appreciated. Caryn has an amazing blog and I'm honoured to get this award from her.

I need to tell you five things about me and pass this on to five others. Hmm, Five things I haven't already divulged to you....
  1. I have a rubber duck on my kitchen window ledge - it's a thermometer for Blake's bath!
  2. I currently have a Mr Bump yellow and blue plaster on my little finger - a crafting accident fixed up with one of Zac's plasters (courtesy of my Dad!)
  3. I plan to have a glass of champagne with my tea tonight (thanks Michelle and Mark for the anniversary gift)
  4. I find listening to someone doing the ironing (theirs or mine!) incredibly soothing
  5. I had a good old dance to 'Bob the Builder' CD with Zac this morning
I'm passing this on to Chrissie, Sue, Donna, Steph and Bee. Have a visit over their way if you haven't already.
