Crafty Calendar Guest Design Team Spot

I was so chuffed when Georgia asked me to join Crafty Calendar as their Guest Designer for November. The theme this month is 'weather' with an optional extra of using pearls.

This month we are sponsored by Bunny-Zoe Crafts. Nicky will be offering a £10 gift certificate for her store to the lucky winner.

I used a cute stamp set from Kars and all was going so well until my Cuttlebug broke - yes it was during the making of this very card! I didn't give up and got my craft knife out to finish the job. If you look closely, you'll see the red scalloped frame was once pink polka dots - I shaded it with Copics to match the image!

The papers are DCWV, the pearls are set on to an acetate window looking through to the scene on the inside. Well if this post has reached you as planned, I'm enjoying my last day at Centre Parcs (sob, sob). May share a photo or two with you next week!

Looking forward to catching up with your blogs.

Ribbons and Gems

This week at Creative Card Crew, our challenge is 'Ribbons and gems'. We're sponsored by The Creative Cottage and have a fab prize up for grabs too.

I'm entering my card for these challenges:

I used a fab image from Pink Petticoat and papers by Doodlebug, image shaded with ProMarkers to match. The ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Hope this post gets to you OK, I've scheduled it as hopefully when you read it, I'll be living it up in Sherwood Forest at Centre Parcs!

A cuppa tea and a slice of cake

This week at Die Cut Dreams, our challenge is 'Food and Drink'. You can use either food or drink or both - we don't mind! We have a fabulous prize this week, the winner will get to be our Guest Designer for the last two weeks of November.

I've wanted to make one of these cupcake gift card holders for a long time and finally I've done it! I followed a fab video tutorial on you tube.

I'm entering this for these challenges:

You make the cupcake using a foam or oasis ball and build around it - a hot glue gun is a must! I had to sew too - so much ribbon sewn and scrunched up on the first and last layers of 'frosting'. I also used flowers, gems, a wooden bead, a glass bead, DCWV card stock and a mini bull dog clip.

The photo's really don't make it look as gorgeous as it is! And when you pull the cherry:

The gift card slides out. This is for my sister in law, it's her birthday next week and she's also just bought her first home with her fella so we got her a Habitat gift card - two pressies in one! Hopefully the cupcake will be something she wants to keep.

So come and join us at Die Cut Dreams and be inspired by the Design Team projects, can't wait to see what you create.

Cupcake Crafts Guest Design Spot

How thrilled was I when Donna invited me to be guest designer at Cupcake Crafts for November? Very! This week we have a fab sketch by Caryn. Simon Says Stamp are sponsoring us this week and are offering a $20 gift voucher and free shipping as the prize.

I'm entering this for these challenges:
I think the stamp is by Alota, it didn't have a label on the bag so I'm not sure. Shaded with Copics, R20, YG06 and E33 with others mixed in too. The dotty paper is by Pebbles inc and the flowers are prima with a DCWV brad in the centre. Love this sketch as it's so simple - just like me!

So funny, I just spell checked my post and I'd mis-spelt 'others' but the only option it gave me was 'otters'. My sentence would have read....Shaded with Copics with otters mixed in too!!

Lily-Boo does purple!

This month's challenge at Lily-Boo Too is 'Purple'. The rules are to simply use purple, any image, any occasion, any design - it's up to you. Challenge open until 29th November.

I used this cute image from the Even More Circle Girls available here.

I'm entering the following challenges:
I shaded the image with ProMarkers and some paper piecing using Doodlebug patterned paper - I cut out a pattern of the same paper to make the flower strip too. Matching papers were used to make the other strip and the flower, decorated with purple gems.

Pop on over to Lily-Boo Too to join in and see what inspiring ideas the Design Team have come up with.
