Copic Colour Challenge Guest DT Spot

This is what I created for my Guest DT spot over at Copic Colour Challenge:

R27, R29, R02, BG05, B05, BG01, Y15, Y08, Y02, E51, E22, C1, C3

I was thrilled to get the GDT spot but so worried when I got the colour combo through as these aren't my usual shades! The rest of the DT cards are brill.

Still a challenge is a challenge for a reason so I thought a kids card would be a great one for these colours. So I'm entering this in to the Allsorts Challenge this week as the theme is 'Something for the boys'.

Pirate Josh is available to download from the Digi Stamp Boutique, I love him! The patterned paper is American Crafts, I printed the sentiment on the PC and found the little square adhesive gems in my stash. Perfect match.

Yesterday went much better than I thought it would, thanks again for all your lovely comments and thoughts. Quite a few of us went up to my baby boys grave after the wake (my Husband's Gran) to put her flowers there. They are beautiful and so many of them too. Zac and Blake left a gorgeous little blue teddy bear for their big brother too.

We ended the day with a surprise visitor too - a frog hopped into our living room! We don't have a pond and nor do our neighbours so not sure if he lives close by or not.

Divine influence

Thought I'd let you know about a new blog that's been set up as it's really different.

It's not a challenge and it's not an individual one, it's more of a showcase and a great way for you to see creations by bloggers you might not have on your favourites or followers or stumble across!

You can visit The Divine Influence here. They have some fab candy up for grabs too - see my sidebar and already have a featured blogger Cindy, I'm not linking to her here, you need to visit The Divine Influence for that!

Who knows - they might showcase your work next!

Simon's Frosty ProMarker!

Well I thought I'd be posting this a lot later, but I'm waiting for James to come and pick me up to take me to the wake so this fills some time:

This is for three challenges, the sketch is from 'Simon Says', the 'Frosty the Snowman' theme is from Winter Wonderland and the colours are from 'A Passion for ProMarkers'.

The image is a digi stamp from the Digi Stamp Boutique, I had the right colour ProMarkers so that kind of dictated what image I wanted to do, I covered him in Glamour Dust for a snow effect, you might need to click on the photo for a closer look. The patterned paper is DCWV and the others are embossed through the cuttlebug. I changed the oval on the sketch to a circle as my snowman didn't fit in an oval! I made the sentiment with rub-ons and the snowflakes are from my stash.

Must dash - thank you for all your kind comments yesterday, very much appreciated.

Mojo Elephant

This card is for two challenges, Mojo Monday - 'the sketch' and The Pink Elephant -'black, red, yellow and white':

I know I've used this image from CC Designs recently but she's cute and needed another outing. I really need to work on my yellow shading, it looks OK and then you take a photo and it looks like I did it after too many glasses of wine! I changed the centre shape on the sketch as feel I've done a lot of straight edges of late. The papers are Doodlebug and I couldn't resist a flower and a glitter gem - coloured with Copics to match the image.

Zac's at his Grandparents today as me and Blake have been for our 8 weeks check ups, Blake had to have jabs - not sure he will trust me to take him out again!

Will have to post very early or very late tomorrow as it's my Husband's Gran's funeral. I'm not going to the funeral as we can't get anyone to watch the boys, but I'll be going to the wake afterwards. And then it will get very emotional for me as we're taking her flowers up to my baby son's grave. She's having white avalanche roses, the flowers Flynn had for his funeral. I think I'll take him a little teddy bear too, his brothers have loads and won't mind sharing.

Buttons, Brads and a Bow

This week at Anyone for Anya, Dawny and Co have set us the challenge to use buttons, brads and bows:

I used a favourite colour combo of mine and for once didn't work off a sketch or any other challenge. The gorgeous patterned paper is sugar coated by Doodlebug, as are the brads. The ribbons are all from stash and the buttons are Doodlebug and My Minds Eye.

These photos are soooo dull, I have got to sort out my Autumn / Winter photography - these pics look grubby to me! Any tips from you budding and expert photographers would be very welcome, I have a Canon IXUS 90IS and a portable photo studio cube thing. I have Adobe Photo Shop 5 LE but I'm a complete novice with it!! Probably need to know more about indoor lighting when natural daylight just doesn't do the job.

Gorjuss Sunday Sketch

Doh - I should have posted this card today and the earlier one tomorrow. Never mind!

This card is for three challenges, Sunday Sketch & Stamp -'sketch', Stampin' for the Weekend - 'orange teal and pink' and Stamp Something 'use your favourite stamp and add punches or die cuts'. Here's what I made:

My favourite stamp of the moment is this Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie as she's my most recent purchase. This was an experiment for me too as I've not tried the 'sitting out a Nestie' technique before. That's where the image is cut with the Nestie with bits left on the outside! Fab tutorial here.

I used Copics and ProMarkers to shade her and found these lush papers on Designer Extreme Vol 1 CD (I won it on a Stamptacular challenge). I punched matching flowers and a sunshine border too, again one of my bargain border punches before they became the 'in thing'.

That's all from me today folks, off to cook some sweet and sour chicken and partake in a glass of wine.

Distressed - very!

There are certain things a girl should just admit she's no good at. For me it's Magnolia stamps and distressing! Combine them and I'm in all sorts of trouble:

Mina has put together such a great sketch at Just Magnolia that I had to give it a go. This is my fourth attempt with the same papers and stamp, attempts 1-3 are in the B.1.N. File.

Not content with the challenge of Magnolia, I added 'distressing' from A Spoon Full of Sugar and 'blue and brown' from Creative Inspirations.

I should have realised it was going to be one of those days when James asked if I'd seen his wallet this morning. I hadn't. Had I emptied the pockets of his work trousers before I washed them? Ooops! Chip n Pin cash cards still work after a 30 degree wash, even with an extra spin cycle....

I used an Edwin Magnolia stamp and cut him out to sit in the rectangle. The blue patterned paper is DCWV and the browns are Cloud 9. For my distressing (other than making this card in the first place) I embossed some DCWV card with a snowflake embossing folder and sanded it back to show the white core. The snowflake edge is a Fiskars border punch that I bought years ago - who knew they'd become so popular now?
